Andy Warhol first exhibited his controversial series of silk-screened Campbell's Soup can paintings in 1962. In 1964, Warhol and other artists collaborated on The American Supermarket, at New York City's Bianchini Gallery, which mixed real objects with Pop Art versions. Warhol produced the shopping bag shown above for an exhibition of his work (October 1-November 6, 1966) at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
